A New Day

Hey everyone!

I hope your day is going fantastic!

So recently I’ve been having a little trouble eating a little too much to the point where I’m almost overly stuffed! So today I wanted to cut that out and start eating a little better!

But here’s my ice cream from last night haha

This was a mix of oreo and cheesecake ice cream…you think it would be good kinda like a piece of oreo cheesecake! Nope…I was very disappointed, it was gross.

This morning started with banana protein pancakes with egg whites and spinach on the side dipped into some SF syrup. Now, I rarely ever use SF syrup. Usually I use low sugar because the SF kind contains aspartame which is an artificial sweetener. I try to stay far away from those.

I then took Howie and Armani (my dog) for a walk to the park. We stayed there for a little bit so I could get Howie and Armani away from Kyle and my dad. My dad and Kyle were working on building Howie a swing set! It’s coming out great. Tomorrow it should be done! I’ll make sure to take pictures!

When we got home I made Howie and myself lunch. I made Howie ravioli with a piece of buttered bread and I had this:

This was 2 pieces of falafel, piece of chicken, broc and cauliflower, a sliced pear, and some blackberries. It was delicious, but now my stomach hurts a little so I’m gonna go lay down!

Picture overload

Sorry I didn’t post again last night. We got back a little later than expected and I was exhausted! So let me tell you a little about my day. I watched Howie till the afternoon. Then my friend Laurie (the girl I’m moving in with this August) came over and we caught up. Since I haven’t been home since March I really missed shopping, so we decided to go to Target! One of my favorite stores! I bought a few things that I wanted and only one that I needed. ha. Figures.

For a snack before we left. I ate a thinkthin bar. I know I said I was going to do the cleanse but I figured I couldn’t do it this weekend because I forgot I had a few things going on.

Now, I’ll show you a few things I bought.

I bought this cute dress for a wedding that Kyle and I have to attend in September. I couldn’t pass it up! It was only 25 bucks!

Next, I bought some new sandals because I saw my sister had bought some and I thought they were so cute so I had to get them!

Of course I had to get them in two colors! πŸ˜‰

Laurie got hungry, and I was craving Panera since I haven’t been able to have it! So we went. She ordered the turkey artichoke panini. And I of course ordered a salad. I ordered the Meditteranean Salmon salad. I love this salad. Ever since it came out, whenever I go there I order this with a slice of whole grain bread on the side.

I ate it all! I was soo hungry yesterday for some reason.

After our shopping and lunch date I headed home to get ready real quick to go to Costco. We arrived at Costco and realized it closed at 6, so we only had an hour to grocery shop! I kicked into high gear and grabbed everything I needed! For some reason the time crunch gave me a little anxiety that I wasn’t going to be able to get everything I wanted or I would forget something. Well, turns out I got everything I needed and more! πŸ™‚

So here’s what we bought…this isn’t everything, but it’s most of it. I was too tired last night when we bought it all so I took a lot of things out of the fridge and did it that way! haha

After we left Costco we headed to Longhorn Steakhouse and waited a half hour before we were seated. We sat down and right away knew what we wanted. I ordered the chicken strawberry salad with a side of sweet potato because I freaking love roasted sweet potatoes at places. This salad was soo good. It came with fresh fruit, feta cheese, candied pecans, grilled chicken, and a raspberry vinagerette. I ordered it with no pecans because since they were candied I knew I wouldn’t eat them.

Sorry no picture, then we stopped at kohl’s and this happened…

So cute! Our last stop was culvers! I ordered a small concrete vanilla mixer with strawberries and bananas. They ended up not having bananas…I was soo mad. So the girl gave me a medium instead with extra strawberries and I thought since I didn’t get my pecans at dinner I’ll have them right now…So she added pecans as well. Can you say stuffed like a turkey?! That I was…almost uncomfortablly full actually. yuck. so today I started with coffee and lemon water! Lemon water is great for detox!

I’ll be having wheat toast with peanut butter and bananas for breakfast. Picture to come.
Now, to get the day started. I have a long day ahead of me! Walking the dog after breakfast and then getting ready for a graduation party in the city…should be fun! πŸ™‚

Chili’s fail

Last night was relaxing. My parents and I originally planned on going to Costco but we decided to go today instead. For dinner we went to Chili’s. This was my first time ever going to that restaurant, but quite honestly I wasn’t impressed. I ordered the plain grilled chicken salad. However, when my order came out, there were tortilla chip pieces on top and honestly I’m picky and would not eat that. First because I think I may be gluten intolerant seeing as how I rarely consume glluten. Is that possible to become gluten intolerant just because for so long you have not consumed it?

So I didn’t eat the salad because the second time it came out it had the same tortilla pieces on top! Really?! and I waited an extra half hour! For a salad! I know, right?! It didn’t stop there though. Our waitress wasn’t very good either. We kept having to ask for more drinks. Usually I don’t mind, but yesterday I was a thirsty girl!

Last night after dinner, we went to bed, bath, and beyond and I found the best straws ever! The other day when Kyle and I went to Zarlengo’s for gelato he ordered a strawberry slush and in his slush was a really thick straw and I told him I wanted a straw like that. Well, B,B, and Beyond had them! You better believe I bought them.

This morning for breakfast I had chocolate shakeology with a banana mixed it. I will be doing the cleanse for the next two days just because I feel yucky and I need to reset my digestive system.

Today we are watching Howie and going to Costco! I loveeeeee going to Costco! It has everything in bulk and for a hungry beast like myself it’s perfect! I’ll post later what we buy!

Now I think I’m gonna go for a run!

Healthy Living Survey

I thought since I’m just starting to blog again I would do a survey to let you guys get to know me a little better! I saw this one on and thought I would try it out.

1. What did you eat for breakfast?
Eggy oatmeal only this time I made plain oatmeal with water then added two poached eggs as well as a little cheese and salt and pepper. Then sliced some tomatoes and put it on top. To top it off I added hot sauce. πŸ™‚ Sorry no picture :/

2. How much water do you drink a day?

A lot to say the least! I’m always thirsty! I usually buy the 20 oz bottles from Sam’s club and drink about five atleast a day!

3. What is your current favorite workout?
I love spinning. I haven’t spinned since last summer and I’m going back tomorrow since I’ll be in town a while! I can’ wait!


4. How many calories do you eat a day?

Right now I have no idea. I’m just kinda listening to my body and trying not to focus on the number but rather how I feel.

5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?

Cottage cheese, plain greek yogurt, fruit, or raw veggies! πŸ™‚

6. What do you usually eat for lunch?

It depends what I’m in the mood for, what leftovers we have, what I’m planning for dinner, etc. I do love my salads though!

7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?

I love arms but since I have this annoying sprained wrist I’m trying to lay off of it so for now I love doing my legs.

8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
I’d have to say abs. It burns so bad haha but we have to do it!

9. What are your β€œbad” food cravings?
Fro yo and gelato! that’s about it! because I limit sugar I don’t really crave sugar a lot…disregarding the past two days! haha

As promised here is my gelato from today! We went earlier than expected…this was a mix of red velvet, Blackberry cheesecake, and pistachio at the bottom! nom nom nom soo good! πŸ™‚ I’m a happy girl right now!
10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?

Sporadically I will go on a kick…but right now no.

11. How often do you eat out?

I eat out atleast once a week, mostly on the weekends. Since Kyle and I moved to southern Illinois this past year, we’ve been trying a lot of restaurants to see what’s good and what’s not.

12. Do you eat fast food?

Not at all. Sometimes subway salads or an unwich veggie sandwich from Jimmy Johns when I’m intoxicated! πŸ˜‰

13. Who is your biggest supporter?
My daddy and Kyle. πŸ™‚

14. Do you have a gym membership?

Oh yes! LA Fitness all the way! I used to be employed there! The good old days!

15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

I need at least seven to function. I usually get like nine! I’m a granny, I love sleep.

16. Do you have a β€œcheat” day?
When I was really strict with my diet I started with cheat days then I decided that was derailing all my work in the gym so I switched to cheat meals. Now, I just eat what I’m craving and try not to focus too much on a bad choice if it happens.

17. Do you drink alcohol?

I do, but only at occassions or randomly if I go out with my friends. I get really bad hang overs and just feel like the next day is sooo unproductive!

18. Do you have a workout buddy?
Yes, one of my best friends, Braunz at school. But, now that I’m home I work out with a few girls and I love all of them! We talk about everything under the sun!


19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a Healthy Lifestyle?

Since changing to a more healthy lifestyle I’m almost always happy and hyper!

20. What was the last healthy thing you did?

Played outside with my godson.
