Neglection and Happy Anniversary to Us

Sorry. I’ve been an packing/unpacking maniac. Everything is unpacked and in place now! Finally. So let’s see the day I left for Charleston was really uneventful. It took five hours to pack up my place and get everything into storage and the car packed! Then, we were off to go back home. It was dinner time, so we stopped and ate at this Amish Buffet. It was good. But, honestly I felt like I was in a nursing home and wanted to go ASAP. I got the salad/soup bar. There were a bit more salads than most places, but I didn’t eat anything I haven’t already tasted previously. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to new places we try!

Saturday I literally spent the whole day unpacking and cleaning my room! It was a disaster. Then yesterday, we celebrated my dad’s birthday again, but this time with my grandparents. It was nice. My mom made a huge turkey dinner. Sorry no pictures. I always forget.

**sidenote- Sometimes I think I forget because subconsciously I don’t want people to think I’m still obsessed with food/ calories/ portions/ fat.

Anyways the food was delicious but also the company. I haven’t really talked to my grandparents since I’ve been home, so it was really nice to catch up with them. My grandpa has parkansis and it’s getting worse. It’s hard to see him like that. Now, it’s harder and harder for him to walk and my grandma is soo sad to see her husband like that.

But on a brighter note, it’s Kyle and I’s one year anniversary offically completely on. We dated all through out high school on and off, but only a few months at a time. Yayy us! 😀 Our plan today is to go on a picnic after he gets off work! I’ll take pictures let you guys know how great it was.

Also on the agenda is a doctor’s appt. for me. I hurt my wrist a few months ago and it’s gotten considerably worse. I’m hoping for the best! I don’t want to have to stop working out or lifting weights!

Brownie for Breakfast

I was planning on hitting up the gym this morning, but I was soo tired so I decided to go back to bed. I told myself that when Kyle was back to work I would get my butt to the gym everyday. I guess I can’t expect myself to do that when I didn’t go to the gym EVERYDAY at school. What an unrealistic goal…

I woke up and waited a little while before I had breakfast to get hungry. When I finally did I had this…

It was blueberry cluster cereal from Kashi mixed with fiber one in almond milk. Then topped with blackberries, a drizzle of almond butter, and an orange walnut brownie. Yummm.

It was delicious. Now, I’m gonna go walk the dog in a bit and ride bikes with a friend. Today Kyle and I have an ice cream date with another couple. Funn! I’m getting soo sick of ice cream, but I really want to see them. We’ll see if I order anything…

And tomorrow I probably won’t post anything because I have to go back to Charleston (3 hr. drive) to pack up the rest of my apartment and put it in a storage shed. I’ll be gone ALLL day!

Post Mother’s Day

Hey you guys!

I wanted to share a few things with you! First of all Happy Belated Mother’s Day! Sorry no post yesterday! I was trying to post from my phone, but it wasn’t working! I have a confession to make! I have eaten ice cream the last two nights! :/ And last night I went wayyyy over board with the sweets but let me show you what they were:

This was the MOST DELICIOUS thing I’ve ever tasted in my life! No seriously though, this was amazing! It was homemade cherry cheesecake made by my Auntie Carol. Amazing. Next I had a piece of this…

This was a cinnamon crumb bunt cake. Yes, my aunt put a flower in the middle like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, because my whole family loves that movie! We quote it alll the time! 😀 I’m not crazy about bunt cake though, so I had a veryyyy small peice! Then there were also frosted brownies, apple slices, and rice krispies. I couldn’t control myself yesterday so I had a brownie, TWO rice krispies ( a chocolate and vanilla), piece of cheesecake, and that piece of bunt cake. Okay I know right? What was I thinking?
ugh! Okay, then my sister drove me home after our family party and Kyle calls me. He asks if I want to go to Zarlengo’s ( one of my favorite ice cream places) because all of our friends are going up there. So I go. And I ordered something…I couldn’t resist! I would have been the only one not eating ice cream and I didn’t want to feel like the old days where I was always the one not eating. So I ordered a small gelato with a scoop of tiramisu and chocolate espresso. Tiramusu was my favorite. I wish I would have gotten all tiramisu.

Well, as you can guess this morning I woke up feeling bad and FAT. I know, I hate that word too. I decided to go to the gym this morning! Best idea ever! I’m sooo happy I went! All my old friends from the gym were still there and sooo happy to see me as I was them! I got in a good workout too! 750 calories burned! Yeahhh buddy! I went home and quickly made a chocolate shakeology with a banana. I was starving because I skipped out on breakfast. Again, because I felt FAT.

As I reflect on this morning and my own thoughts, I can’t tell if I’m really trying to eat better or if my ED is coming back and I’m trying to restrict again. Only time will tell, but I’m gonna do my best to NOT restrict!

OIAJ and no ice cream!

I know my titles are soo lame! I’m sorry I need to get better with those! haha

So yesterday was a great day for me! No ice cream! 🙂 Last night ended with shakeology for dinner and a plain iced coffee with soymilk in it from Starbucks! Kyle had a little party last night and it was great to see old friends from high school! Kyle ordered Aurelio’s (best pizza in the chicago land area many say) and there was a lottt of beer there! I didn’t really feel like drinking yesterday, (I don’t like the taste of beer) although I had a few sips of Mike’s Hard Lemonade that Kyle bought me. All in all it was a great time, but the clean up this morning was rough.

Of course we went back to my parent’s house for breakfast. My mom cooked Kyle a sausage, ham, onion, pepper, and cheddar jack cheese omlette with Italian toast and jelly and a side of hashbrowns! I tried to snap a picture but Kyle wouldn’t stop eating for a minute! He loves his food!

I’m glad I’m back eating what I normally eat and I think my body is too! It’s just hard coming back from school and there’s all these restaurants! There’s absoloutley nothing in Charleston!

Well, now Kyle and I are off to buy our mother’s some presents. We’re last minute, I know! haha

Good Friends and Great Food

So yesterday started with a long walk with Armani.

By the time I got home I was starving so I decided to make this impressively satisfying meal. It kept me full all the way until two o’clock!

After breakfast I had to get ready for a graduation party. Kyle and I’s train left at 3:55. We got to the party around 6 because we had to the take the Red line to her apartment. I’m sorry I didn’t snap very many pics but my friend did so I’ll post some of those when she uploads them. For food, they had little appetizers. It was an array of fresh veggies, fruit, and dips. For the main appetizer, her father made this beef plantain dish. Now usually I don’t eat beef, but I was kinda desperate at this point because I was starving. Starving=bad choice on my part. But surprisingly, it was really tastey. I’m not sure exactly what was all in there, but the flavor was impressive. It is one of the most sold appetizers at carnivale, a restaurant in which her dad has been the manager forever and all his girls are employed with him.

For dessert there was this amazing chocolate cake with layers of cake, cream, and rasperry preserves with a chocolate peanut butter fudge frosting. Oh my God. You bet I tried it! It was soo rich. I became a little queesy after, but it was all worth it.

And of course for drinks, her sister (the bartender at carnivale) was making us girls strawberry margaritas. They were soo good. I may have had three of those bad boys! After, I was soo full I thought I was going to explode.

We left the party at around 9:30 and got home around 11:30. Of course Kyle was hungry by then. So I warmed him up so beer in the butt chicken my mom had made for dinner that night. I tasted it. It was alright.

To be honest, I’m glad I can now eat all of this and not feel guilty anymore. I genuinely had a great time with old friends last night. There were people there I haven’t seen in two years and I just feel like I’m back! I now have my personality back. Before, I was too worried about counting calories and if I ate was gonna make me fat. Now, after I ate that slice of cake I def caught myself saying “wow, I can feel the fat rolls now forming.” But right away it was gone. I started talking to other people and FOOD WAS NOT THE MAIN FOCUS. Wow. For once! Big mile stones I’m hitting here. I’m so thankful. Now, I feel like I’m just having fun with food, with all the foods I have missed out on or have missed since I was a kid! Before, I would have stuck to the fresh veggies and fruit, but I’m so happy I tried that dish because it was excellent! 🙂

There’s my rant. As for breakfast this morning I made this bad boy with a slice of tomato on the side. I’ve been obesessed lately with tomatoes on the side with my eggs.

It was a mixture of red gold potatoes my mom roasted last night and also some grilled veggies with balsamic vinagerette and some swiss cheese to top it all of it. TWO SLICES. OMG. I know. But hey, YOLO! 😉

Now me and Kyle are off to see a movie. I’ll post my eats later and maybe some pics from the party.

Do you have any fear foods? If so, what are they and why do you fear them?

For me, I can’t tell if they’re fear foods or if I don’t like them because they aren’t healthy and I stopped eating them when I was really young! Such as butter! That’s a big one for me. I will never use it. I use olive oil instead. Last summer I used cinnamon and sugar butter and I just felt so blah after so I’m not sure.
